Celebrating Ramadan through Charity
"We Care" - Community Iftar Fete... A Fund-Raising Iftar by Asian International School - Ruwais Student Council
26 June 2018 | Inspired by this year's "Year of Zayed" and the previous "Year of Giving" in the UAE, Asian International School - Ruwais hosted the first ever community Iftar in their senior school campus on 31st May 2018.
Students with their parents, faculty, staff, and the rest of the community, estimated to at least 1200 attendees shared not only an iftar meal for Ramadan, but also an inspiring evening knowing that all the hardships of everyone who contributed will be given to charity. This event also unleashed the leadership , humanitarianism, and creativity of the students and also brought them all together as a team.

Hundreds of food choices were served with pure altruism, diligence, love and care which was enjoyed by all the attendees. Activities such as henna, face painting, as well as fun games and competitions like lantern making and cupcake frosting were enjoyed during the night.
By the end of the event around 9,100 dirhams was raised and all of the collection will be donated to the Emirates Red Crescent foundation.

Over the course of just two weeks, the student council, led by Head Boy ( Raja Vigneswar) & Head Girl (Md. Sumaiya), initiated, conceptualized and executed a noble idea to organize a fundraising Iftar Fete entitled “We Care”.
